MacLennan were approached by a well-known building contractor to work as a subcontractor to provide a damp proofing solution for a Dairy Annexe in a Farm in Hampshire. We had recently waterproofed Dairy Cottage on this farm and were now invited to provide our solution to their damp issue in another building built out of solid brick with no existing damp proofing course.

The building also had several original cement slabs that were left for conservation reasons.

The outside of the property had slightly high external ground water which also played it’s part in the building suffering from damp.

Method

After inspecting the property, MacLennan experts suggested that the best solution dealing with damp would be using a ventilated cavity membrane from floor to ceiling. External ground levels were lowered in areas and a well-designed land drain detail was implemented.

Result

The client’s gorgeous Hampshire property is now dry and there is no sign of damp. MacLennan provided works within budget and the agreed timescale providing full company guarantee for damp proofing works. We also undertake helical structural works to Properties of this type and Resin repairs on Timbers when specified by an Engineer.
