External Waterproofing, Avon Castle
External waterproofing system for a new build basement

Avon Castle is a prestigious estate located close to the renowned New Forest National Park and the South Coast. It is recognised as an exclusive area with beautiful properties on attractive tree lined avenues.
MacLennan were contracted by the main contractor to undertake the installation of the external waterproofing system to this new building property.
The intended use of the finished structure is for use as habitable accommodation, and as such will be deemed as a Grade 3 in BS8102. Which is described as a dry habitable environment and as such water ingress is not tolerable.
For the installation, first the Preprufe was laid over the pre-prepared binding. The Preprufe was dress around the edge shutter and penetrations were detailed with Liquid Membrane.
The Main contractor then poured the concrete slab and walls. MacLennan returned to site to apply the B2 primer to the outside of the walls, followed by the Bituthene. Finally, the Insulated drainage layer was installed and then the area was backfilled by the contractor.
Maclennan carried out the work in the specified time and with in budget.
The external waterproofing system has ensured a dry and habitable space for this new build property.
