Historic Country Park Estate
Damp-proofing, Timber Treatments and Deck Waterproofing
MacLennan were engaged by a regular main contractor builder client to attend the site at this magnificent country estate and carry out surveys to propose suitable guaranteed Waterproofing, Damp proofing and Timber treatment solutions for this project.
The MacLennan design team have over 30 years’ experience with design and have been involved with the renovation and refurbishment of hundreds of listed historical buildings.
The MacLennan waterproofing design team designed a Cavity Drain Waterproofing system for the vaulted areas that allowed the beautiful brickwork to remain exposed as a feature but protected the floors and finishes from water ingress.
For the New Build construction. MacLennan designed full waterproofing using Polyprufe spray applied waterproof coating to large areas of decking. MacLennan worked closely with the Architects and Contractor to ensure all aspects of the project were correctly detailed.
MacLennan design department provided full design for all aspects of the remedial work and waterproofing work for the client. All affected timbers were treated, and a full cavity drain waterproofing system installed to stop water ingress, cavity drain 8mm membrane was applied to walls and floor with base-drain channels to the floor / wall joins.
Sumps and pumps were installed in the basement areas to expel any water along with alarms and back-ups. The Membrane was then drylined or plastered ready for the decorating. The new build basement was built of concrete.
The decking areas were waterproofed by the application of the MacLennan Polyprufe spray applied coating; this system has the benefit of being extremely quick drying in normal conditions in a matter of a few minutes. The system is very flexible, almost indestructible, and fully bonded. Both the Waterproofing and Damp Proofing systems complied to British standards, Insurance company requirements and all building regulations. All MacLennan design work is covered by our 10 million PI.
The MacLennan site management team and technicians ensured that the work was carried out within the very strict time scales allowed and that the work was quality assured throughout.
