Ian MacLennan
“Known as Mac, he is regarded in the industry as one of the foremost experts on waterproofing systems design and installation. Mac has served as a consultant, designer, and contractor on some of the country’s largest and most technically challenging waterproofing projects, including Wembley Stadium, the Olympics, The Houses of Parliament, Kia Oval, and many other multi-million-pound projects and historic buildings.
As the Chairman of the MacLennan board of directors, Mac oversees the design policy for over 1,000 basement and deck waterproofing projects annually and has trained numerous surveyors to pass the CSSW in waterproofing design. He was also part of the team that rewrote the British Standard for waterproofing below ground structures, BS8102/22.
Mac has collaborated with the PCA and the Structural Waterproofing Group on codes of practice for waterproofing. As a PCA-registered waterproofing design specialist, he completes CPD every year. With 35 years of experience as a surveyor designer and 25 years as a Managing Director, Mac has spent the last 20 years lecturing architects, engineers, and main contractors on structural waterproofing design, historic buildings, and deck waterproofing. His CPD is RIBA approved. Mac has consistently lobbied the industry to improve standards, reduce risk, and eliminate split liability in design to protect clients and all parties involved in waterproofing.”

Linda MacLennan
Linda has been coordinating and managing basement waterproofing and preservation contracts with Ian since the company's inception. She is dedicated to customer service and ensures that client and contract time scales are always met.
Linda oversees projects from consultation to completion, tailoring solutions to meet each client's unique needs. Her strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members, along with her effective communication, ensure successful project outcomes. Linda's commitment to excellence and client satisfaction makes her a valued leader at MacLennan.

Martin Bellingham-Mills
As a key member of the technical sales department, Martin plays a crucial role in helping end clients, architects, and main contractors leverage the extensive knowledge and experience of our specialist team.
Martin is involved at every stage of the project, from initial consultation to final implementation. He works closely with clients to detail the key advantages and specific aspects of our proposals, ensuring that the real value of each element is clearly explained. By providing in-person explanations, Martin simplifies the quotation process and ensures that our design drawings are fully understood.

Ian Scoggins
Ian brings over 30 years of expertise in the construction industry, beginning his career as a carpenter and earning his NVQ qualification in 1993. His practical experience, including time as a shuttering carpenter, has provided a solid foundation for his role as a waterproofing designer.
In 2006, Ian transitioned into waterproofing design after working closely with Ian MacLennan for many years. By 2010, he had achieved his CSSW qualification (Certified Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing) through the Property Care Association. Ian has since added the CSTDB qualification to his credentials and is recognised as a Waterproofing Design Specialist (WDS) on the PCA Waterproofing Design Specialist Register.
Over the past 19 years, Ian has been a pivotal member of the MacLennan team, applying his extensive knowledge of waterproofing and construction to deliver exceptional results.
As the head of MacLennan’s technical department, Ian leads the design of waterproofing systems and conducts design meetings with architects and engineers. A CAD-certified professional, he also drives the research and development of MacLennan’s innovative product range.
Throughout his career, Ian has managed and delivered numerous high-profile projects, consistently upholding the highest standards in waterproofing design and construction excellence.

CSSW / SURVEYOR
Simon Riches
With 17 years of experience in the waterproofing industry, Simon began his career as an operative straight out of school. Over the first 10 years, he gained extensive experience in the installation of various waterproofing systems, developing a deep understanding of products, site conditions, and the needs of both domestic and commercial clients. In 2017, Simon earned his official CSSW qualification through the Property Care Association.
Following his qualification, Simon worked as a fully qualified waterproofing surveyor for a company covering Greater London and the South West of England. He joined MacLennan in December 2018, where he has received additional in-house training to complement his official qualifications.
Since joining MacLennan, Simon has been responsible for designing waterproofing systems for over 600 projects and overseeing the installation of nearly 100 projects in Greater London and the South East of England.

James Jannetta
James is a recent addition to MacLennan's team, but he is no stranger to the waterproofing industry. With around 16 years of experience as an estimator and waterproofing designer for one of MacLennan’s close competitors, James decided it was time for a change of scenery and joined MacLennan as a new surveyor.
James entered the industry fresh out of university after successfully completing a degree in Construction and has remained within the field ever since. Early in his career, he gained the CSSW qualification and has since been involved in numerous exciting and complex projects.

David Keffen
David has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years, gaining experience in various roles including Interior Designer, Site Manager, Project Manager, and Quantity Surveyor. This diverse background provides him with a wide range of expertise to draw from. Upon joining MacLennan, David underwent an intensive training program from the foremost experts in the business, further extending his knowledge of designing successful waterproofing systems.
At MacLennan, David has served as both a surveyor and Technical Manager. In his role, he has assisted waterproofing manufacturers in designing their systems and improving their typical details. As a qualified CSSW structural waterproofing surveyor, David has had the privilege of designing basement waterproofing for some of the largest and most challenging construction projects in the UK.

Lyndon Hill
Lyndon joined the company in August 2023, bringing with him a BA (Hons) in Architecture from Cardiff Metropolitan University. His academic background provided a solid foundation for his role as a Junior Surveyor at Maclennan. During his university years, Lyndon honed his skills in various design software, including AutoCAD, which he now regularly utilizes within the company.
Despite his architectural studies, Lyndon gained a broad understanding of the construction industry, which has been invaluable in his current role. As he progressed, he undertook extensive training and exams to become a qualified waterproofing surveyor, achieving CSSW certification in December 2024.
Lyndon continues to expand his expertise through hands-on experience with on-site works and site surveys. Although he is at the early stages of his career in the construction industry, he is committed to learning and mastering the design of effective waterproofing solutions for clients across the UK.

Charlie Davies
After leaving school, Charlie undertook a Civil Engineering apprenticeship, gaining knowledge of various aspects of the construction industry, with a focus on design using programs such as AutoCAD. He joined MacLennan in January 2021 as a Junior Estimator/Surveyor. Since then, Charlie has undergone extensive in-house training and is working towards his CSSW qualification with the Property Care Association.
Charlie is still at the start of his waterproofing career and enjoys learning new aspects of the industry every day. He broadens his general knowledge by assisting on site surveys and providing waterproofing design proposals to both domestic and commercial clients across the South.
CSSW / Structural Waterproofing Supervisor
Joe Fulton
Joe serves as an on-site Structural Waterproofing Supervisor in the MacLennan technical team. With over 20 years of experience in the waterproofing industry and more than 6 years as a valued member of the MacLennan team, Joe brings a wealth of expertise to his role. Prior to joining MacLennan, he worked as a waterproofing technician for over 8 years with another company and spent an additional 5 years as a competent plasterer, carrying out damp proofing and plastering works.
Joe's knowledge and expertise are diverse, having been heavily involved in the installation of various waterproofing systems on some of the most prestigious projects in England. He is CSSW qualified, fully trained in quality management, and has completed his NVQ Level 2 in structural waterproofing and his IOSH qualification.
