Derelict Barns to Family Home

Works are continuing over at the Abergavenny project. A substantial redevelopment of a series of derelict barns, into a grand family residence.

To ensure a dry and habitable space, we've meticulously designed, supplied, and are now installing our state-of-the-art cavity membrane system on the internal walls of the basement. Once completed, this space will feature a luxurious swimming pool, a plant room, and a games area.

Our cavity membrane system is not only maintainable and repairable but also fully compliant with the latest BS8102:2022 guidelines, ensuring excellent quality and durability

Existing basement waterproofing

60 Circus Road

Exciting news! 🎉 We've been commissioned by one of our valued clients to design, supply, and install a comprehensive waterproofing system for a compact yet intricate basement. This homeowner is transforming their basement into a dry, habitable space, perfect for modern living.

Many London properties have basements originally intended for storage of coal, food, and other goods. However, with today's lifestyle, these spaces are being reimagined and integrated into the family living area. We're thrilled to be part of this transformation journey, turning old storage areas into vibrant, usable spaces! 🏡✨

Electrical Testing Deck Waterproofing

Ever wondered how we guarantee our completed decks remain leak-free? At MacLennan, we take quality assurance seriously, and one of the key steps in our process is electrical spark testing. This crucial test is performed before we provide our long-term guarantees, ensuring your deck is perfectly sealed and protected.

What is a spark test? 🤔

A spark test is a highly effective method for detecting even the tiniest defects in waterproof materials. By passing an electric current through the material, we can identify minute pinholes and imperfections that are invisible to the naked eye. This allows us to confirm the integrity of the waterproofing and address any issues before they become problems.

Our commitment to quality means you can trust that your deck will remain dry and durable for years to come. With MacLennan's thorough testing and long-term guarantees, you can have peace of mind knowing your investment is protected.

New build basement waterproofing

2 Mavelstone Road

We are over in Bromley for this project, where we have been asked to provide a suitable and effective waterproofing solution to this new build property. Though it's not a full basement, three sides of the property are ground-retaining. To prevent water ingress, we're installing a comprehensive cavity drain system.

We're in the early stages, prepping surfaces for our cementitious coating. This will be followed by our cavity drain membrane on the floors and walls.

BS8102:2022 recommends that two forms of waterproofing are considered when failure is not an option. So, we're using our CrystalCoat system as the first layer of protection. The second, and most crucial, is a Type C Cavity Drain system, which is maintainable and guaranteeable.

Despite the challenging weather, our dedicated technicians are working hard to stay on schedule. 🌧️💪

Specialised Pump Systems

Exciting update for our followers! 🏗️ We're currently engaged in a significant renovation project in the prestigious Notting Hill area of London. This project involves the careful excavation and underpinning of a mid-terrace property, ensuring structural integrity and longevity.

Our experienced surveyor has designed a bespoke waterproofing solution to address the unique challenges of this property. This solution includes the installation of three specialised pump systems:

Foul Pump: This system is crucial for managing wastewater and preventing any backflow issues, ensuring the property's sanitation remains uncompromised.

Cavity Drain Pump: Designed to handle any water ingress through the walls, this pump system works in conjunction with cavity drain membranes to channel water away from the property, maintaining a dry and habitable environment.

Surface Water Pump: Essential for managing rainwater and surface runoff, this pump prevents water accumulation around the property, protecting the foundation and surrounding areas from potential water damage.

These advanced systems are integral to our comprehensive waterproofing strategy, safeguarding the property against water ingress and enhancing its overall resilience. Stay tuned for more technical insights and updates on this exciting project! 🚧🔨
